We know what you're thinking....Golf would be a great life-long sport to play with your family and friends, but seems intimidating, hard to learn, and to be honest, you just don't want to embarrass yourself. We understand your fears and concerns which is why we are offering the Operation 36 New Golfer Bootcamp! This program is designed to be the #1 learning experience for beginner golfers who are just starting their journey.
This is a One-Day, 4-hour session designed to introduce YOU to the game of golf and the Operation 36 program! Get past your fear of the golf course with us at the Learning Center at Compass Pointe. Let us guide you through your first 9 holes of golf, taking you from apprehensive newbie to confident offer who can play with anyone! Let’s make your first golf experience fun!
What's Included:
-Short Game and Swing Instruction
-Lunch
-9 Holes of golf in Operation 36 format
Instruction will cover:
-Basic etiquette, rules and OP36 procedure
-Fundamentals including proper grip, posture and alignment
-Basic putting, chipping & pitching technique
-On-course game management

Corey Higgs is a Troon Coach located at Compass Pointe Golf Courses. Book your next lesson or message with Corey to start improving your game today Corey returns to Compass Pointe as The Director of Instruction. with an extensive teaching background that goes back 25 years. Starting golf at the age of six, he learned the basics of the game- and by 15 had handicap of 1. As an amateur, he won his club championship three consecutive years. Shortly after completing his PGA apprenticeship he then qualified as a PGA professional. Not long after this he carried his friends bag on the PGA Tour of Australasia and learned that leather golf bags are far too heavy From there he dived head first into continuing his teaching education and learn more about the art of coaching, traveling around America in 2000 to study several accredited top 100 coaches. Then the opportunity came up to work under MJ. Smith, former LPGA Tour player based at Army Navy CC, here he learned and developed his teaching, Instruction and coaching structure. During the early 2000's and even today he credits lessons learned observing highly acclaimed coaches and applying many of their teaching philosophies within his teaching method today. Having worked with former European Tour winner, Mark Brown between 2006 and 2010 he learned a lot from what an elite player requires to thrive on the worlds 2 major Tours. During those early years he also worked with many top junior golfers, Spencer Schindler who joined Compass Pointe to work with Corey, Spencer eventually left to chase his dream of playing College golf and later become an All American at Flagler College in Florida. Between 2010 and now Corey has worked with many students that have gone on to division 1 and 2 college programs. Whilst working at the Institute of Golf in New Zealand, Corey worked with Jayden Ford and Darae Chung, Darae was recently awarded a full ride at highly acclaimed division 1, San Jose State, ranked a top 2 women's program in America. More recently, Darae travelled to the United States to play in the U.S amateur and several other high profile tournaments whilst working with Corey over the Summer months. Corey's real passion has always been helping all levels of golfers play better golf and develop a love for the game. Corey has held positions as Director of Instruction in both the US and NZ. .
